WORT-FM Community Radio Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Program for December 18, 2006 - 5:00-6:00pm CST

Migration is a worldwide phenomenon. Last year, some 200 million people lived abroad. For the past six years, the international community has recognized the rights of migrants worldwide and has celebrated their achievements on 18th of December, International Migrant's Day.

This year, a coalition called Radio 18-12 has organized a global radio marathon on December 18th, where local radio stations in at least twenty countries are broadcasting programs on migration, starting in Australia and ending in the Americas.

W-O-R-T participates in this international solidarity broadcast this evening from 5 to PM. We're airing highlights of immigration coverage from around the world, including some of our live breaking coverage from the April 10th "Day without Latinos" rally here in Madison.

Join us this evening for an International Day of Solidarity with Migrants. 5- PM tonight on WORT 89.9 FM Community Radio. More information is online at “radio18-12.net”.
